Natural Strawberry Flavouring - A Must Try

This year, I’ve been lucky with an abundant harvest from just two of my strawberry plants more than I knew what to do with! Instead of tossing them in the freezer (where they’d likely be forgotten until next year), I wanted to get creative and make something different this time.

So, I came up with my own homemade natural strawberry flavouring! It’s the perfect addition to milkshakes, ice cream, yogurt, or really anything you want to give a delicious fruity twist. Simple, fresh, and oh-so-sweet!

Cooking time:

  • 8-10 hours

What you need:

  • Food Dehydrator

  • 3 cups freshly grown strawberries (or bought)

  • Blender (I used a NutriBullet)

  • Mason Jar

  1. You can either put them into the dehydrator whole but to minimise time, I cut them into thin slices and it took about 8 hours approx.

  1. You probably want to keep an eye out on the strawberries every 2-3 hours.

  1. Once they're light and crispy I chucked them into the blender until the consistency was like powder.

  2. Finished product! It's perfect to adding to yoghurt or ice cream and all natural!
